What Fills Your Heart With Joy?

There’s a simple but powerful question I want to ask you:
What fills your Heart with joy?

What is it that makes your heart sing, that brings a sparkle to your eyes, that fills your whole being with light?

For me, one of those moments happens every Saturday morning here in the Swiss Alps. Between 8 and 8:30, I wander to our local farmers’ market. Rain or shine, it is always a gift.

The stalls overflow with fresh vegetables, crisp salad, sweet carrots, earthy beets, and vibrant greens — all grown in the Alps. There’s the farmer’s Alpine cheese (cow or goat, each one a treasure), pure golden honey, and the baker from Laax who brings his warm sourdough bread.

Sometimes my youngest daughter Malou comes with me. She loves the market too — and she can hardly wait until we’re home. Already on our way back, she’s happily munching on one of the bread buns, and it always makes me smile. 🍞💛

Walking home with a basket full of this nourishment — food kissed by sunshine and mountain air — fills me with pure joy. Later, cooking with these gifts is another joy in itself.

These simple yet profound moments remind me how important it is to notice and to cherish what fills our hearts with joy.
